Steady State Photophysics

Most of the projects that are run in the CPCT are started by measuring an absorption spectrum of the sample in question. The Center owns two absorption spectrometers; a Perkin-Elmer Lambda 19 (right) UV-Visible-NIR Spectrophotometer with a spectral range of 190-3200 nm and capability for high precision and/or high resolution, and a UV-Visible Spectrophotometer (HP Diode Array 8452A) with a spectral range of 190-820 nm.

Many samples of interest in Center research are fluorescent and steady state fluorescence measurements (Photoluminescence emission and excitation) are carried out on the Spex Fluorolog 2 Spectrofluorimeter (right) with a spectral range of 250-1700nm.
