Most of the projects that are run in the CPCT are started by measuring an absorption spectrum of the sample in question. The Center owns two absorption spectrometers; a Perkin-Elmer Lambda 19 (right) UV-Visible-NIR Spectrophotometer with a spectral range of 190-3200 nm and capability for high precision and/or high resolution, and a UV-Visible Spectrophotometer (HP Diode Array 8452A) with a spectral range of 190-820 nm. |

Many samples of interest in Center research are fluorescent and steady state fluorescence measurements (Photoluminescence emission and excitation) are carried out on the Spex Fluorolog 2 Spectrofluorimeter (right) with a spectral range of 250-1700nm. |
