Welcome to the Chem 131-MWF Homepage. Chemistry 131-MWF is one of two introductory chemistry offerings given at UR, the other being Chemistry 131-TR. Both courses have the title Chemical Concepts, Systems and Practicesand both provide a sound foundation for students in chemistry and molecular science. The courses serve equally well for students majoring in physical or biological sciences and/or engineering. Other than the class meeting time, the main differences between these two courses is the use of WORKSHOPS in Chemistry 131-MWF. You can read a brief description of this learning method at WorkShops. Cheminstry 131- MWF and Chemistry 131-TR use the same text and cover the same material but each professor will present this material in their own way. I hope you visit the Chemistry 131-MWF homepage often as this site will change throughout the semester. In the column on the left of the screen are links to: Course Information, WorkShops, Laboratory, Course Assistance, and Useful Links. Under Course Information are the course outline, syllabus, lecture schedules, exam schedules, grading information, and many aspects of the organization and functions of Chemistry 131-MWF. The WorkShop section will list Study Assignments and quizzes, Section assignments, and WorkShop Leader information. A variety of Course Assistance links include: a math tutorial if anyone wants to review basic math and calculator stuff, old exams and answer keys, homework answer keys, etc. Finally, links to a nice Periodic Table page and the UofR Science Libraries are provided. Adobe Acrobat Reader is required for many of the documents on this site, see Adobe icon at the bottom of page. .- Todd Krauss
